Professor Najwa Khuri-Bulos

Dr. Khuri-Bulos graduated summa cum laude from the American University of Beirut and obtained American Board certification in Pediatrics and Infectious Diseases. She joined the University of Jordan medical school where she served as founding chair of the department of pediatrics as well as the Jordan pediatric medical board. Under her leadership, the pediatric department became the first and premiere pediatric training center in Jordan. She also founded the infection control unit at that hospital.
As an infectious disease specialist she served on many international committees including the National immunization committee of which she continues to be chairman, the polio eradication committee of which she is also a chairman and is a member of the Technical Advisory Group on Immunization of the International Pediatric Association (IPA). Dr. Khuri-Bulos is the recipient of many awards and is the first woman to be granted the Abdul Hamid Shoman Prize for Young Arab Scientists. She is currently the director of the Infectious Disease and Vaccine center at the University of Jordan.
